Cosset & Walker qualifies for Animal Care Award!!

Maggie Reilly the owner of Cosset & Walker Petsitters in Sale has successfully completed the academic stage of the Professional Petsitting Course conducted by the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology and was delighted to achieve an ‘A’ Grade after having to undertake several written assessments over the course of a three month period.

The course was brilliant – hugely wide ranging and really informative, using scientific study to look in depth at matters such as the ethology of companion animals, basic behaviour and learning theory, and specific training in the handling of difficult pets.

The Course also looked at the health of household pets including first aid, diet, illness and assessment of exercise requirements, as well as addressing all legal aspects relating to Professional Dog Walking and Petsitting including the Dangerous Dogs Act, Insurance and Professional Ethics and Maggie is happy that her continuing knowledge of these areas can only benefit her clients.

Maggie is also in the process of completing an additional formal Diploma in Animal Care, outside of COAPE, which focuses on the practical aspects of working in the field of animal care and animal management and which covers all different types of household pets including Cats, Dogs, Horses, Birds, Rabbits, Reptiles and amphibians, and Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Mice. This will lend Maggie two further formal qualifications in her chosen field of work –  a SAC Dip Animal Care Diploma and an NCFE Level 3 Award accredited by ASET and NCFE which is recognised in the UK by the Department of Education and Skills (DfES), Learning Skills Council (LSC) and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
