From Legal Eagle to Legal Beagle…

A former Solicitor has beaten the odds by setting up a new Petsitting Business in Sale, Cheshire which is continuing to go from strength to strength despite the dreaded ‘credit crunch’.

Maggie Reilly, who worked her way up from trainee solicitor to Partner of a Wilmslow law firm before leaving to take over as Managing Director of an international Legal Headhunting Consultancy, says that she has always enjoyed working really hard to provide her clients with the ‘best possible service for no additional cost’ and has now transferred that philosophy to her new personal Petsitting Service, Cosset & Walker.

Maggie agrees that she took an enormous risk by starting a new business in the midst of the current economic climate but was determined to continue with her plans, despite the concerns of well meaning colleagues, and describes this as an important step towards her ultimate goal of founding a charitable animal sanctuary for abused or abandoned animals.

She explains that Petsitting – and even dog walking – is no longer something that people can do on a casual – and particularly uninsured – basis and goes on to say that today’s pet owners view their pet as a member of the family and they need to know that anyone entrusted with their care, while they are at work or away on holiday, is both professionally capable and, more importantly, fully accountable.

Cosset & Walker, which offers a stress-free alternative to Kennels and Catteries as well as dog walking, small pet care, and other associated pet services, is therefore a fully insured member of the National Association of Registered Petsitters and has just applied to be fully licensed by Trafford Borough Council following the unexpected scale of recent success.

Cosset & Walker refuse to take on any temporary or casual staff which they feel can pose a risk to the safety and security of their clients or their clients’ properties, and any permanent members of staff must complete both a formal ‘Diploma in Animal Care’ and additional ‘Professional Petsitting Certificate’ for the safety and comfort of the animals in their care.

Maggie, who is a well known local figure, having lived on the same road in Sale since the day she was born, says she is delighted with the reaction of her ever-increasing client base and that the only downside to such rapid success is already having to disappoint potential new clients who have left their booking too late!
